Dear Members
We are now only a few short days away from the 23rd Annual British Wrestlers Reunion which will take place next Sunday, the 10th August, at The Bridges, Horton Road, South Darenth, Kent, DA4 9AX starting at 11.00am where you will be welcomed by your hosts Wayne and Sarah Bridges. This years Reunion promises to be a day not to be missed and as always Lifetime Achievement and Services to Wrestling Awards will be presented alongside the Young Wrestler of the Year Award in addition to others. For the first time ever the next Inductees into the Hall of Fame will be announced by Johnny Kincaid and the obituaries will be read by Colin Joynson before the customary 10 bell salute, Following this we will be unveiling plaques in memory of Bert and Marjorie Assirati. After the success of last years hog roast this will again be available and wrestlers and officials will receive their free ticket for this. A small fee however will be payable by anyone else attending. There will also be a catering van on site from which you can purchase tea, coffee, light snacks etc and there will also be an all day bar. The entertainment this year comes to us courtesy of Chris Buckwell and former wrestler Barry Howard or Baz Jangles as is his stage name, will be providing the vocals. In addition to this we will have trophies and belts won by such wrestlers as Bert Assirati, Mick Mcmanus, Wayne Bridges and Brian Maxine amongst others on display. The memorabilia table will be an ever presence throughout the day and wrestlers turned authors Johnny Kincaid, Ray Robinson, Johnny England and Glitterboy Evans will be on hand to sell and autograph their books as will the award winning Ray Clark. As previously advised, we have again this year produced a Souvenir Programme and this will be available on the day at a cost of £4.00. For anyone who is unable to attend the Reunion and would like one of these it will be available on our website for £5.00 (this includes p&p). We will also be holding a raffle which we would ask that you support as it raises funds which enables us to put the Reunion on each year. We are pleased to see that this year a lot of first time attendees will be joining our wrestling family which is very encouraging and will ensure that the Reunion has a healthy future. The entire committee very much look forward to wecloming each and every one next Sunday, so bring your family and friends, this is a free event so come and be part of the biggest social wrestling event of the year and remember to bring your cameras!!!!! |

La boxe française renaît de l'action de quelques passionnés, dont Pierre Baruzy. Les championnats de France reprennent en 1966. En 1969 on comptait 800 licenciés et 12 clubs en France. La boxe française fut enseignée à l'INSEP. Les professeurs d'éducation physique purent donc l'enseigner aux collèges et lycées. Les championnats d'Europe eurent lieu en 1970. Le premier championnat de France féminin eut lieu en 1982 et la même année la première coupe d'Europe se déroula au stade Pierre-de-Coubertin. En 1984, le cap des 20 000 licenciés est franchi et la fédération internationale est fondée le 23 mars 1985. La première coupe du monde eut lieu en 1989. La discipline assaut est introduite en compétition à partir de 1999 en Belgique lors de la première coupe européenne d'Assaut. Les championnats du monde assaut suivront.
